It’s Official: Capital Metro to Strike

Capital Metro announced this morning that their drivers will begin a strike Wednesday, November 5. There is not currently a scheduled end date for the strike.

The strike affects mainline operation, including the Express and Dillo lines. Only the following routes will be maintain service and only between the hours of 6 am and 7:30 pm:

1L/1M, 3, 7, 10, 17, 20, 37, 101, 142, 214, 300, 331, 990

Several bus lines servicing Skillpoint Alliance’s downtown office and computer lab are included in the list of routes that will continue offering service. Our office can be reached from the 1L/1M, 3, 7, 10, 17 and 20.

MetroAccess for passengers with disabilities also will operate at a reduced service level from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekdays only. Reservation priority will be given to customers in need of dialysis or urgent medical appointments followed by riders needing transportation to work or school, if resources and capacity allow.

Skillpoint Alliance encourages CTTC clients attending class at Reagan or Travis to carpool with other clients. Alternatively, clients currently taking classes at Reagan or Travis whose bus line will cease to operate during the strike are encouraged to attend daytime classes at our downtown lab.     I will not need to use bus system att.

    I am a rider on STS for people with disabilities and I am not sure that I can be sure that they will pick me up, but I will try to come as much as I can. If I have to miss some classes I would like to make them up.

    I will be unable to attand school and work.

    I have a concern about time. Some school attivities end late,about 6 or 7pm. Also the route to school and back. We need transportantion for docter, work, and apointments.

    I do not depend on the bus. I live north west and Reagan High is the most convenient location for me.
